OO Language Concepts and Programming in OE ABL
Speakers: Rick Kuzyk, Progress Software and
Warren Bailey, The Oppenheimer Group
With the release of OpenEdge 10, Progress ushered in a multitude of new features and capabilities. Perhaps one of the lesser known, yet most powerful, is the object–oriented language constructs that has been put into the OpenEdge Advanced Business Language (formerly known as the OpenEdge 4GL). And with the move toward Service-Oriented Architectures, the OOABL provides developers with a stronger story around reuse without sacrificing the power and productivity of the Progress language. In this interactive session, we’ll review the key concepts of object–oriented programming, and look at how these concepts apply to the OOABL. Following that, we’ll have a customer testimonial from the Oppenheimer Group who’ll share with us how and why they chose to use the OOABL and how they’ve benefited from it.
